  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 2 sticks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Add-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 12 oz package

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool on baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake them. Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
