Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets.
- Cream together butter and cream cheese until smooth.
- Add granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until light and fluffy.
- Mix in egg and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Slowly add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chunks or chips.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra soft cookies, don't overbake them. They should still look slightly underdone in the center when you take them out of the oven.
