Method
- Wash and dry apples. Insert craft sticks.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Boil to 300°F (hard-crack stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Divide candy mixture into bowls. Add food coloring.
- Dip each apple into colored candy, let excess drip.
- Place coated apples on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with sprinkles, if desired.
- Let cool completely.
Notes
Use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature reading.
