  • 1 lb fresh strawberries about 16-20 large
  • 8 oz good quality chocolate dark, milk, or white, chopped or in chip/wafer form
  • 1 teaspoon shortening or coconut oil optional, for smoother melting and dipping

Method
 

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Wash and dry strawberries completely. Leave stems on.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Melt chocolate in microwave or double boiler until smooth. Stir in shortening/oil if using.
  3. Dip Strawberries: Dip strawberries into melted chocolate, coating about two-thirds.
  4. Remove Excess: Let excess chocolate drip off.
  5. Set: Place dipped strawberries on parchment paper.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate for 15-30 minutes until firm.
  7. Serve: Serve immediately or store in refrigerator.
